Fouriers law
According to fouriers law of heat conduction, heat transfer through a homogenous solid body is directly proportional to the area of the section at right angles to the direction of heat flow and the temperature gradient inhat direction. Mathematically this can be written

Q=KA dT/dx
Where
Q= heat flow rate by conduction through the material (W)
A= Surface area of the section at right angle to the direction of heat flow (m2)
dx= Differential length of the specimen in the direction of heat flow.
dT= temperature difference in the differential lenghth (dx) of the specimen (°C or k)
dT/dx= temperature gradient in the x direction ( k/m or °C/m
