What is Gas Turbine power plant? 

Gas turbine power plant  have been used for electricity generation. It is ideal for this application as they can be started and stopped quickly.

Gas turbines main parts

There are four main parts of Gas turbine 

A. Air Compressor 

B. Combustion chamber

C. Turbine 

D. Genarator

Efficiency of a gas turbine 

Work done per kg of air

Wt=Cp(T2-T3)

And work required by the Compressor per kg of air

Wc= Cp(T1-T4)

Now the net work available 

W= Wt-Wc

Turbine efficiency =  Net work / Heat supply 

Net work = Cp [(T2-T3) - (T1-T4)]

and heat supplied= Cp[(T2-T1])
